Valencia track moves a step closer

The Spanish city of Valencia has moved a step closer to securing a Formula 1 Grand Prix. The port city is thought to be near a green light situation allowing it to run a street race, probably under the banner of the ‘Mediterranean GP’ from 2009 onwards.

The Spanish news agency EFE has claimed that the regional government’s president, Francisco Camps, met with Bernie Ecclestone in London earlier this week.

Camps has been quoted as saying, “The intention is that we have a Grand Prix next year and also in 2009.”
