Schumacher won’t be missed for long

Mario Theissen, head of BMW’s Formula 1 team, has admitted that he does not think it will take long for the void left by Michael Schumacher to be filled. He admits that it will be strange not to have Schumacher in the paddock, however he believes that the gap will be closed very quickly.

“Most definitely he will be missed in the first half of the season,” Theissen explained. “On the other hand, there are so many young talents on the grid that the excitement will be even bigger, from my point of view. History has demonstrated again and again that the gap left by the retirement of a top driver was closed quicker than expected.”
