Lewis gets his own stamp?

British champ to appear on millions of Christmas cards this year?

Newly crowned world champion Lewis Hamilton could make his way onto millions of Christmas cards this year with reports that his title achievements will be honoured with a set of British postage stamps.

However, the Times newspaper reports that the Royal Mail, is not planning to honour Hamilton’s championship until the New Year.

Should the idea be pursued by the UK’s national postal service, there will no doubt be pressure to launch the stamps before Christmas.

Hamilton would not be the first world champion to have his portrait imprinted on a stamp.

Earlier this year, Finland’s postal service honoured Kimi Raikkonen after he won the 2007 world championship.
