German company Henkel are denying that they have a sponsorship contract with Mercedes, a deal which is reported to be worth 90 million Euro.
The surprising issue has come about from earlier in the year when Brawn believed that they had put together a contract with the company. Unfortunately, Henkel are now claiming that they had nothing to do with the deal and it was in fact put together by an ex-member of staff who was working without the company’s knowledge or authorisation.
Henkel have said that they informed the team of the issue back in September and also believe that Mercedes should have checked the contract and the representative they were dealing with more thoroughly. Henkel also launched a lawsuit over the matter last month.
