European newspaprt Bild-Zeitung has accused BMW-Sauber of copying McLaren’s aerodynamics. Photos of the recent Bahrain test show that the BMW has two ‘horns’ on the car – one of each side of the engine cover, similar to a design that McLaren have had on their car for two years.
So far at Bahrain, no driver has managed to beat Heidfeld’s times in his quick, but unreliable F1.07 car. BMW’s technical director has explained that his team has done nothing wrong as it is normal in Formula 1 for innovations in design and technology to become widely used by other teams.
