I understad, same happens in most of the european countries. Mine is no exception and it's so frustrating to me. I don't know if that's the case in the States, but in Spain there are so many divisions in left-winged parties that most of the people have the only option of voting for PSOE which is more moderate just because it's the only way to avoid the right-winged former government PP getting the majority, so we're heading in the same direction as your country.

But yeah, I remember my english teacher saying that democracy is the least efficient government, but its still better than the other forms of government. Well atleast you guys dont have a pres that everyone in the world hates.

You got that quite wrong: All the liberal/democrat people voted for him by default once some of them overcame their resentments re. Hillary Clinton not making the cut. Virtually all black voters supported him by default as well. A majority of Hispanics (except the die-hard exile Cubans in Florida) voted for Obama because of his program he ran on. Most of the swing voters (which make up 30-40% of the electorate) probably voted for him in rejection of the mess left behind by the GOP/Bush and some of them probably also as a vote against old-fashioned, short-fused McCain and bimbo Palin. So, you might be right with your statement re. voting because being tired of the GOP, but only if you qualify it with 'most swing voters/independents'.

Just have a look at what happened to the neighborhood where his house is in the past week or so since he got elected. Security, cops, barricades - a secret service circus!
