I wish I could've been there. We just watched history tonight, and he didnt win by a little... he won by a landslide. Kudos to McCain though, he is a great man. He knows how to act when to win, and he knows how to lose... a true American hero. The hardcore Republicans on the other hand, are sore losers.

I for one, am happy and very hopeful! :)

Me too man, me too. I hope he doesnt become like all other politician's, and that he stays true to himself. He is a great man, and I hope he stays that way.

I of course voted for Obama, and I took my wife with me to vote for him as well, and this was her first time voting in a presidential election. Later into the evening I watched the coverage for several hours, and for a change it was nice to see a clear winner early on rather than having to wait for days or weeks like we did in 2000 and 2004, and to see such a huge majority of the electoral votes go to the winner, as opposed to 2000 which was 271/266 or 2004 which wasn't much better at 286/252. I listened to McCain's concession speech and approved of it but particularly liked Obama's acceptance speech, especially the positive can-do attitude at the end.

This was a historic moment for the United States and I am proud to have been a part of it and witness to it.

Let's hope we see a positive change in America as a whole and our economy, that is my main hope but I'm being VERY VERY cautious about a prez who want's to take away MY rights to the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution!!!

'Have gun, will travel' and frankly I dont care who does or does not like it!

He's not going to take your guns away. A law like that will never pass, so I dont why so many people are freaking out about that. What the heck do you need a gun for anyway? Although I do think some of the gun laws are a bit ridiculous though, .50 cal? What do you need that for?

Innocence/ignorance is bliss but not a healthy way of thinking in today's society. :nono:

The .50 cal is a hunting gun and not meant for self-defense although I have heard of a few people carrying one for that. My opinion, and it is strictly my own, is that if one is not a true Texan, born-bread-raised, they will never understand the mentality or what it truelly mean's to be a Texan so that is where my firearm belief's lie.

This post is my last post only because we are discussing politic's and frankly I'm tired lol.

As a black man i should be kinda happy about his election but life in Britain has made me cynical of all politicians.

Congtrats to him but he still has to prove to me that he isn't like the rest of them

Congrats to Obama, if i was American he is the one i would have voted for! Hopefully the world politics with which the US plays a major role improves also

as for guns, i wish they were banned in full in my Country, they only serve one purpose and that is to harm! and from personal experience i hate them! :irked:
