Make a better car next year. Or use the four years you had to develop an engine wisely, or don't approve rules that you're then going to oppose because your engineers dropped the ball. Stop making excuses and make a winning car why don't you?

Red Bull has won four and Ross Brawn has won two championships, while Ferrari complains about tires, fuel, aerodynamics, engines...

EDIT: I'm sure that "apology" meant as much to Luca as winning a WCC.
EDIT: made the font larger since Sagi neglected to comment on that part when she responded to the post.

Well if Ferrari dont like this rule about the engine freeze - why not just veto it...?

From what little is available on-line, it would seem their veto is limited to who will succeed Ecclestone!

Just as I'm sure the apology was sincere, in light of the fact that Mercedes have both titles wrapped up
without any possibility of in-season competition thanks to THIS year's rules.

Let's not forget that while Ferrari/Red Bull were fighting it out on the track, the Mercedes gremlins had
the luxury of time to work on their engine and to test during races for 4 years.

Much like everyone else on the grid is doing THIS YEAR, whilst Mercedes has a Get out of Jail Free card! :wavey:

That gives the rest of us hope... Also, there's always the possibility that the FIA recognizes their rules have
stagnated the competition, this year, and will amend that particular rule!!

Oh right. I see. That explains why they are not winning - not enough veto power!

WOOAAAHH!!!! Let me stop you right there.

IF Mercedes have both titles wrapped up, it has nothing to do with clear and concise rules that everyone has been FULLY aware of, with plenty of notice.

Its to do with the fact the other teams have failed to design a good enough car.

I'm glad you focused on the meat of my commentary.

Ferrari/Schumi were the most successful team on the grid; but, to be fair, ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep developing their P/U and ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep testing in order to catch up.

Ever heard the term Ferrari International Assistance? Ever wonder where it came from? Read up on it... It has a lot to do with their run of success, so why blame them now when the well has run dry, eh?

Ferrari needs to make a better car, not make better excuses.

Why are we having a discussion about Ferrari in the Mercedes thread? Oh cause someone came on to badmouth Mercedes for only winning because the rules prevent Ferrari from improving their engine.

Let's have the Ferrari delusional discussions elsewhere. Please.

Just to remind you that Mercedes beat Ferrari in the WCC last year, so it was Red Bull Mercedes and Ferrari fighting it out on track :wavy:
and, when in the last 4 years have Mercedes run a 2014 spec engine during a race ?

The Mercedes gremlins had the luxury of an extra year to work on their engine ( exactly the same amount of time as Ferrari and Renault ) thanks to Ferrari successfully having the new engine regs delayed by a year because they weren't ready !

There goes his championship bid. They're bringing Ross back in the mean time?

Secondly, it's not funny to watch a team flounce off into the sunset unscathed and unchallenged thanks to rules that don't allow anyone else to play catch up. I completely understand the dissention amongst the ranks during the years when Ferrari/Schumi were the most successful team on the grid; but, to be fair, ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep developing their P/U and ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep testing in order to catch up. The deck was NOT stacked by the rules (i.e., limited testing, development limited to reliability issues) in favour of the ONE team who got it right, at the beginning of the season.

Will I be a hypocrite and say that it would be different if it were Ferrari wearing Mercedes brake pads?
No, I won't; but, I wouldn't kick anyone when they were down, as Mr. Lauda obviously did.

But Sagi, surely you realise what you just said? Ferrari won everything because all teams had the opportunity to test and develop and Ferrari did 10x as much testing (at 2 of their own tracks) and development as anyone else because they out spent everyone esle. The deck was not stacked by the rules? The deck was stacked by the amount of money ferrari could spend because they had a giant car company owner.

And now Sagi, everyone wants lower costs AND everyone is bound by the same no testing no development rules and guess what?

ferrari complained that Merc were a giant car maker and thats why they are so much better at making F1 cars that go fast after 5 years back in F1. And talking about kicking others when they are down, Sagi do you know who it was that coined the derogatory phrase 'garagista'? do you know who laughed at Lotus' first engine mounted behind the driver? the laughing was that a horse should pull a car not push it.
And do you know who sneered at Red Bull as a drinks making company who were not a proper competitor because they relied on aero instead of engineering like the grandee engine maker companies with heritage?

Sagi, surely you know that the engine freeze was in place for almost a decade before this year? and you must know ferrari clamoured for a return to an engine formula despite understanding that the freeze would continue for cost savings?
