Well if Ferrari dont like this rule about the engine freeze - why not just veto it...?
...EDIT: I'm sure that "appology" meant as much to Luca as winning a WDC.

From what little is available on-line, it would seem their veto is limited to who will succeed Ecclestone!

Oh right. I see. That explains why they are not winning - not enough veto power!
Just as I'm sure the apology was sincere, in light of the fact that Mercedes have both titles wrapped up
without any possibility of in-season competition thanks to THIS year's rules.

Let's not forget that while Ferrari/Red Bull were fighting it out on the track, the Mercedes gremlins had
the luxury of time to work on their engine and to test during races for 4 years.
Much like everyone else on the grid is doing THIS YEAR, whilst Mercedes has a Get out of Jail Free card!
That gives the rest of us hope... Also, there's always the possibility that the FIA recognizes their rules have
stagnated the competition, this year, and will amend that particular rule!!
Ferrari/Schumi were the most successful team on the grid; but, to be fair, ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep developing their P/U and ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep testing in order to catch up.
.....Let's have the Ferrari delusional discussions elsewhere. Please.

Secondly, it's not funny to watch a team flounce off into the sunset unscathed and unchallenged thanks to rules that don't allow anyone else to play catch up. I completely understand the dissention amongst the ranks during the years when Ferrari/Schumi were the most successful team on the grid; but, to be fair, ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep developing their P/U and ALL teams had the OPPORTUNITY to keep testing in order to catch up. The deck was NOT stacked by the rules (i.e., limited testing, development limited to reliability issues) in favour of the ONE team who got it right, at the beginning of the season.
Will I be a hypocrite and say that it would be different if it were Ferrari wearing Mercedes brake pads?
No, I won't; but, I wouldn't kick anyone when they were down, as Mr. Lauda obviously did.
