Read that part again. You don't need 160hp to travel at the pit lane speed limit.

You don't need 160hp to travel at the pit lane speed limit.I never considered that; if 80hp cars can travel at 60mph on motorways; then half the 160hp should be enough to travel at that speed as it won't require too much energy to reach the pit box as the car will enter the pitlane travelling much faster; it's only really needed to accelerate out of the pit box.

The challenge is more than likely getting the car away from the box quickly enough whilst being limited to the KERS' output alone. I imagine it's only the speed limit lines that will be counted, otherwise you'd lose a ridiculous amount of time by pitting, especially where there is a long entrance or exit (Interlagos, anyone?).
The question I ask is it the whole pitlane including entrance/exit of just between the speed limit lines?

I can see it now....................forward beep-beep alarms.I never thought about the sound, leaving the pit box to the sound of an electric motor; Prius pit lane GP? will the cars also have solar panels on the engine cover for the A/C?
"And where does that power come from Boris?"

They might need bigger tanks but that might just be another interesting challenge for the manufacturers.
