I'm glad the grand prix was cancelled; I was disgusted at the thought of having a race there with all that's going on. And hopefully we can get rid of Bahrain for good.

Man...I love Australia :cloud9:

They brought us Albert Park (One of my favourite tracks ever), that Simpsons Episode with the Bullfrogs and those funny Foster's ads where the guys dispense advice on things from a beach house

(I'm being extra nice so that they don't riot. Also, Australia is kind of awesome. They're like Britain's drinking buddy!)

Roll on Round 1: Australia! Roll on March 27 :D

They're planning on using the movable rear wings vertically as rudders just in case.

Maybe the FIA will approve the use of oars. With much scrutineering, of course....

"Wait! Ferrari have an unapproved moveable sub-fin located in the dorsal section of their water accelaration device!".

If the Australian Grand Prix hasn't sold out yet, it should now. Looking forward to starting the F1 season down under.

F1 teams would probably cringe at this thought, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

Looking at the 2011 calendar; they race in Budapest on July 31st and resume on August 26th at Spa. At the cost of a mid-season break, why couldn't they throw Hockenheimring in the mix of that time frame as a replacement for Bahrain? It's relatively close to Belgium and that circuit rocks.

Not to mention, the FOA has already provided their golden parachute to residents of the local community...

Ongoing deficits of the Formula 1 races, amounting to up to 5.3 million Euro per race that had to be covered by the local communities, made it likely the contract between the Hockenheimring and the Formula 1 would not be extended after the Grand Prix of 2010. However, in October 2009 the contract for the circuit to hold the German GP was extended to 2018, with the FOA agreeing to cover any losses the event incurs.

Just a thought.

Just a thought.

I'm guessing it'd be a contractual and in some ways logistical nightmare. More likely the Bahrain GP will be held in November, if any "replacement" is offered at all.

Plus, I'd imagine that if they add a race on a circuit not included in the published calendar that it would have to be a non-championship event. I haven't checked the rules, and I'm not familiar with the commercial agreements, but it seems like the sort of clause they'd include.

We're talking about Bahrain here... have you forgotten the massive rage last year when we had the SHITTEST opening race of F1's history?
