I think the "hating" is simply to sell more F1 tickets and merchandise.

The likelihood is that neither is thinking much about the other outside of GP race.

 awesome video. Very funny.

i'll try and translate the Hamilton bits, just so that people dont go around making more out of the times they mention Lewis. Then later today i'll try and translate more in some kind of organised way.

Just to point out, there's none Hamilton hatred at all.
Everything is made mostly for fun... very similar to when guys go on Top Gear reasonable car segment... they take a crack at everything. Spanish humour is not PC at all... but nothing in the show is out of the ordinary Top gear style humour. For example:

They mention the incident at Monza, to point out that nothing is written yet for the championship. They ask about it to Fernando he says, well, yes as you can see he went out at Lap 1, these things happen in lap 1 as there's ussually lots of contact; this time it was him, so its even better because it wasnt you.

Later they ask Alonso what is up with the rivalry with Lewis and he mentions its normally exaggerated, so the guy asked him if he would go on a bumper car ride with Lewis... he says they already go every sunday hehe.

The other was about the puppets joking about how Fernando is ahead because he went on the show before Hamilton... so the puppets say something like, there you go, Lewis is coming in second this time as well.

There was another one in the true or false game, they ask if Fernando has a sticker saying something to keep hamilton behind... Alonso said he doesnt (have such a sticker), but the lie detector thing buzzes as if Fernando got caught in a lie.

The other is the Hammy Sr. behind Lewis' car on the card game... that was funny. But there was nothing made out of it.

In the end, it was a nice clip outside of the rigor of a F1 press conference and so on... they also made some comments about how some people say Alonso is not such a nice person or that he isnt funny and so on.

But he says, well, the thing is they come to you with the camera 5 mins before you get into the car and then 5 mns after, at those times you are not really thinking about humour. Then he says to the show host, that its better the worse people think about him, that way when they meet him they are pleasantly surprised. Then the host talks about his situtations after the shows and so on, so Fernando tells him that luckily he doesnt earn a living though his humour. (somwhat putting their 2 jobs in comparison)....

I did think about translating more of it myself, but so much of it is drivel and bad jokes, I decided not to bother!

Well, we all have different tastes I guess, "vive la difference" I say. Thanks again for what you did earlier.
I guess it's fortunate for the program that all it's audience seemed to enjoy the jokes and dialogue.

he he more than the quality of the jokes itself, is actually watching Alonso in a very different scenario than we're used to and being put in some situations. It wasnt a serious interview at all. The show is not even about cars... so it was never meant to be high quality F1 tv. But at least its something refreshing to see.

So yeah... everything was mostly drivel. Which is nothing wrong with... ;)

BTW... Alonso's neck is comparable only to Kimi's. Man... they have big necks.

Are you kidding? Similar hate towards Alonso can be seen on this forum alone, If there ever was a television show with this sort of a game i can promise you similar booing would be issued for Alonso.

are you kidding? This forum doesnt have a tv show!
what i should say is the British, or even English speaking media does not act in the same way towards Fernando as the Spanish media does towards Lewis. They have a complex about him!

Why wouldn't they have a complex? He upstaged their hero and made him go running back to mommy Briatore waiting with open arms at Renault. :D

Upstaged you say.
How many races did they each win that year?
How many points did they each end up with that year?

Who was ahead of who in the championship table? :P for a rookie to be level let alone ahead of his team mate who happens to be a 2 times champ is a bit of an upstage in anyones books!

You're annoying :banghead: everyone knows the answer so why do you have to be a sausage about it?
Hamilton had more higher placed finishes and was ahead of Fernando on the table, thus beat him :wavey:

Alonso 4 wins
Hamilton 4 wins
Alonso 109 Points
Hamilton 109 Points

Hamilton had the added advantage of having the team boss publicly state that he and Hamilton were racing against Alonso.
