Do you think an F-Duct or even allowing a Flexible Rear wing would improve overtaking? I mean through high speed corners would it mean that you are creating less drag and dirty air, allowing the car behind to stay closer??

It may well increase overtaking but if you want to see overtaking watch another sport, there hasn't been overtaking in Formula One for 20 years. You watch Formula One to see the pinnacle racing.

MotoGp coming in 4 days time, best top level racing sport to watch overtaking excitement.
F1 is still great, it just doesn't happen to be exhilarating every race, thats it.

American oval racing is boring as well,even though it has some overtaking, its monotonous.

IMHO (which, combined with a couple of bob, will get you a nice cuppa tea), the problem is there's just too much reliance on aerodynamic downforce. These cars cannot abide the disruption of close drafting another car. For the better part, I have to agree with The Planet Steve. The classic, nail-biting, mano-a-mano driver duels to the death have become ever so rare since F1 discovered ground effects. Go to YouTube and watch some of the videos of Lauda and Piquet Sr., or Senna and Prost in the early days. Their tires were wider than Hadrian's Wall and their wings smaller than Keeley Hazell's bikini. Those guys often would pass and re-pass for lap after lap until one was punted to the gravel traps or the chequered flag fell.

So my solution is three-fold.

1. Very wide, very sticky tires and very tiny wings
2. Next track that's built (or resurfaced), slice Hermann Tilke into very thin strips to be used in place of bitumen. Or cube, freeze-dry and lacquer him to be used as cobbles to designate the start/finish (a la Indianapolis).
3. Require every car wearing a Ferrari badge to have a 12-cylinder engine

I guarantee that will improve the drama of the racing.

Wider or maybe softer tires and the simple diffuser as originally intended should help a lot.

Many of Tilke's tracks provide overtaking opportunities (regardless of their blandness or any other boring qualities)... it is simply/basically impossible with today's cars.

I dont think they will completely throw out everything that's been done on aerodynamics... just like they wont (likely) throw out the seamless gears. Its just a matter of making the cars still have "something else" left to drive with when trailing behind someone's dirty air.
