The breakaway wouldn't get all the current teams though, especially if it were to expect to go racing in 2010 (And it's a little late to start setting up an international racing series for next year at this stage).

it will get all the big teams with the biggest followers which means biggest fan base for TV money.
and yeah 2010 might be hard yet if some tracks around the world break their agreement with Bernie and sign with FOTA. they would just set up as normal. so not a big task.

I am sure that Bernie has a contract that says he gets each track on certain dates...but does he really have one that says the gets the track on these dates and the track must refuse to take any other event that Bernie does not approve of? I very much doubt it. I think if the new F1...lets call it....formula zero, wanted to race on tracks and didn't require the enormous amount of money that Bernie requires....I'll bet they could find dates on the current tracks that were open. Then again, maybe Bernie is smarter than I give him credit for....and has blocked such a move..but the tracks would be wholesale stupid to agree to allowing Bernie to regulate who they can and can not sell dates to.
I would, without question, watch Formula 0 running the same track every other week if it meant they were in the process of working out tracks for the following year. Formula 1 would not get a single view from me. I am sick to death of this Max and Bernie show..it gets worse every year and I'm over it. These two geezers are out of control. If the teams get together and form another series...I don't care if they are racing on Kart tracks...I will support them.
Jensonb i know you dont want a breakaway but stop acting like its near an impossible undertaking. Money talks, if FOTA want one they will make it happen.
I find it very hard to believe the tracks would sign a non-compete contract with the FIA in so much as they will not allow weekends to competing organizations.
F1 Group would not be so unwise as to leave their track deals free to be undermined by the GPWC, which was a threat (Not that long ago) to the Formula One Commerical Interests.
geez guy's it's simple-teams don't show up at let's say melborne. no race. promotor not to happy /track owner no to happy / fans too. t/owner promotor /fans sue fom/bernie. f1 is tanked/ teams start their own series. track owners will be more than happy to pay less/fans also. banks at this point call the notes that fom owes ==bankrupt == fom/bernie. new series run as a democracy. i spoke to my friend norman legault who was the promoter of the canadian g.p. about this/clauses in contract/he assured me that it // was not the case// he is free to book anything he wants. burt. put these 2x fools out to pasture.
This sport is a load of bull!

!!!
Ferrari's case is rejected. Even if the the regulations are changed. The sport is still a complete waste of time.
