Tyre warming ban delay rejected by Bridgestone

Formula 1 s official tyre supplier Bridgestone has rejected a bid by F1 teams to delay a tyre warming ban until 2010.

From the start of the 2009 season, tyre warming blankets will be banned. Many drivers are concerned over the ban because they feel that there are safety concerns because of the speed differential between cold and warmed slick tyres. Because of these concerns, teams were hoping to push the tyre warming ban back by a season however Bridgestone do not appear to share the same fears over the tyres.

Bridgestone will be testing a new rubber compound later in the year and hope that the new tyres will help quell some drivers worries.
