Touchdown!

Ahead of the season opener, 110 tonnes of Formula 1 gear ferried in by Jumbo Jet, has touched down at Melbourne’s Avalon airport. Chartered by Formula One Management, the actual race cars are also expected soon, flown in by three Boeing 747 planes. Local company Gibson Freight will then shift all the equipment south to the Albert Park track in fourteen large trucks.

“F1 is the biggest job we do all year,” managing director Bill Gibson said.
