Tamara Ecclestone gets paddock reporting job

Bernie Ecclestone s daughter, Tamara Ecclestone, has won herself a job helping to cover Formula One from the pit-lane for Sky Italia. Ecclestone presents in Italian, one of three languages that she is fluent in she also speaks English and Croatian fluently.

According to Ecclestone, she is determined to have her own career and not be grouped together with the likes of Paris Hilton.

“I want a career, a proper one,” she explained in an interview with British newspaper The Telegraph. “I want to show people that I actually do something and that I’m good at it. I don’t want to be a version of anyone else. People are already keen to draw comparisons with me and Paris Hilton, for example. That’s not me. I want there to be more to my life than being famous for getting out of a car with no knickers on.

“I don’t recognise some of the portrayals of me in the media. But I’ve played the game to a degree, which is why you can’t moan about it too much. You have to take it with a pinch of salt, just get on with it.

“I feel I have something to prove to myself for my own sanity. I don’t want to think that I’ve had all these opportunities, that I could have done this or that but instead chose to sit around and shop or go on a really long holiday for the rest of my life.

“Ultimately, I’m going to be judged on the work I produce. It’s tough to begin with, when people are critical and judgmental because of who I am rather than what I do. Once the door is open, people won’t keep me just because I’m Bernie Ecclestone’s daughter.

“By doing well it will show some of the doubters that I’m not afraid to do something different or difficult.”
