Singapore Route Leaked, Possible Night Race?

Details surrounding the proposed route of the new Singapore circuit have been leaked to the press. The circuit, set to be another street circuit, will run around the parkland in the Civic District and around the Suntec City area. The circuit aims to paint a flattering picture of the island city, with the 2.5 mile track running around features such as City Hall, the Victoria Memorial Hall, the famous, and expensive, Raffles Hotel and the Singapore Flyer (a giant ferris wheel). The majority of the route is readily accessible by the metro and rail networks to enable good access for motorsport fans.

There is talk that the race will be a night race – the first street circuit race of it’s kind. Running the race at night has two distinct advantages – the city will not be disrupted so much, and the race would fit in with TV schedules in Europe and America where the majority of Formula 1 fans are based.
