Schumacher caught speeding

Michael Schumacher has allegedly been caught for speeding. The former F1 champion was caught speeding on a highway near his hometown of Kerpen, Germany, although it is unclear what speed he was doing when he was caught. Police have confirmed that he was stopped for speeding in a 100 km/h zone and local media reports believe he was doing speeds of around 140 km/h. Had he been doing more than 146 km/h, he would have automatically have lost his license.

Schumacher was driving an Audi Cabriolet at the time and was handed a 75 Euro fine along with three points for the infraction.

“I am really sorry,” Schumacher said to German newspaper Bild. “It is out of character for me. Speeding should be for race tracks only.”
