Montreal F1 bosses sued

A cluster of Canadian Formula 1 fans are going ahead with their plan to sue the organisers of the 2005 Montreal Grand Prix. The group are lead by Scott McColl, and they are claiming that they were unable to see the race properly thanks to some obstructions, despite having the same tickets a year earlier with no problems.

They claim that the grandstand had been moved and that the spectators’ view of the start-finish line, pits and podium was blocked by the addition of ‘podium suites’.

No date for the court case has yet been set, however the Superior Court judge in Quebec has given the green light to McColl to request a class action. The judge has vowed to discover if the organisers of the Grand Prix had misled customers about the vantage point. No race organiser has yet been available for comment.
