Minor changes to the Valencia track

Ahead of the European Grand Prix, Valencia race officials have overseen a number of safety modifications to the circuit. FIA officials listened to input from drivers following last season s F1 race at the circuit and several changes have been made on the back of their comments.

The pit exit road surface level has changed so that it is now at the same level as the track, and the wall that used to separate the two sections of road has now been removed. A high-grip resin has also been applied to the inner pit lane.

Kerbs at the exits of turns 4 and 5 have been extended. Walls at turns 3, 5, 9, 10 and 14 have been moved so that they are now situated further away from the track than last season. Turns 10 and 14 have also now been fitted with artificial grass behind the kerbs to try and stop drivers from repeatedly running wide on the corners.
