Maldonado handed 10 place grid slot penalty

Pastor Maldonado has been given a ten place grid slot penalty ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Venezuelan driver was penalised for a move he made in practice session three. Maldonado caught Sergio Perez just ahead of the tunnel. Perez moved over to allow Maldonado through however the Venezuelan driver clipped the side of Perez as he passed him in what looked to be a deliberate move. Later in the session, Maldonado crashed into a barrier bringing out the red flags, potentially because of damage caused to his car in his clash with Perez.

The stewards decided that the move on Perez was deliberate and Maldonado has been given a ten place grid slot penalty.
