McLaren have recently debuted their new aerodynamic package, including the introduction of a new wing. However, some teams believe that this wing may not be legal.
The new wing appears to flex, making the wing the focus of the current saga regarding flexible bodywork – a saga which started with issues over flexible wings, and most recently has been concerned with the underside of some Formula 1 cars. Several unnamed teams are reported to have asked the FIA to keep an eye on the behaviour of the MP4-22’s ‘bridge’ wing via the on-board cameras during this weekend’s race at Barcelona to determine whether the device is legal or not.
