Greece building new F1 track

Despite financial woes, Greece is currently constructing a new race track with the hopes of hosting an F1 race in the near future.

Greece is currently heading for it’s sixth year of recession. The total cost of the new track – which is to be located in Xalandritsa near Patras – is projected to be 94.6 million Euro. The country’s development ministry has said that nearly 30 million Euro has been set aside to subsidise the cost of the circuit.
