You're right he has a record, as being the most under appreciated driver who helped Ferrari win five WCC titles and Brawn GP one title. In the Schumacher era at Ferrari, Rubens WDC results were, 2nd-2X, 3rd-1X and 4th-2X. A Ross Brawn managed team has always had a #1 driver and Rubens was there to help secure the WCC title. This thread could have been titled, "Ross Brawn on Rubens," the story of Rubens career.

I don't think Ross has said that there is a 1st or 2nd driver in his team

Heard any rumors of Rubens driving for Brawn GP in 2010.

Rubens is a brilliant man and driver, but you gotta feel abit sorry for him.
Always second fiddle

He didn't strive for anything better. He achieved want he wanted to achieve - a long career doing what he enjoyed and more money than he can count. Don't feel too sorry for him people.

Button was spiritual number one this season. Brawn didn't think it would look good to have a pensioner win the title and Button is more likely to be staying with the team in 2010.

You saying he is in it for the money?

Very unfair. He just did not get the chances some other people got and was up against Hakkinen and Schumacher. On ability alone, Barrichello was and still is worth a title, but that's not quite how things work out. In each era, there tends to more than one good driver and often more than one capable team, so there's not a lot of room for the third best (or whatever number it is. You get I mean.).

It's not unfair, the truth often sounds harsh. If he wasn't happy being Schumacher's manservant then he should have moved elsewhere. If he did more walking than talking when it came to wanting to be world champion then he might have stood a better chance.

Where was Barrichello going to go to then?

He didn't move because he didn't believe he was good enough to win in a Ferrari, let alone a lesser car. And he didn't have the ambition, or reputation, to try for a lead role in a 2nd or 3rd best team.

He accepted being number two. He's no champion.
