American racing star Danica Patrick has been linked with a move to Formula 1 next season but could another female racer also be considering joining the grid?
There hasn't been a female formula 1 driver since 1992 i think. lol.
I didn't know there'd been one. The head of USF1, Peter Windsor, writes in F1 Racing every month and he ruled it a while back saying she was staying put in NASCAR or something along those lines.
Is she considered to be the best American driver?
According to Wikipedia there's been 5 female drivers in F1, I didn't know either.
EDIT: Only 2 started a race
Well I'd be glad to see it - but she would have to be there on merit. It's frustrating when you see, in any sport, competitors pushed through the ranks based on race or gender.
I don't think anyone should be in a formula 1 car unless they've got the talent, certainly not
just because they're female, they've got a certain name or buckets of cash.
At the moment female racing drivers are a bit sparse, motorsport is still a male dominated sport, both in spectators and participants. Unless more women start taking an interest in racing we're not likely to see many on the F1 grid.
