Piquet is such a butthole! Why did he try to pass when he had NO front wing so no frontend downforce?

Although I'm thinking, and from my perspective, is that Piquet was pissed off at Salazar because of a 'get together' that the camera's did not catch which took off his front wing?

Some cars during the peak of the Ground-Effect era were able to generate good enough ground-effects meaning they didn't need the front wings, so they ditched them. This will have been the case with Piquet's Brabham in that video.

I think it depended on what track they were at depending on the front wing, Hockenheim was a fast circuit so I guess they didn't need the front wings anyway.

And at least knew how to have a laugh when times were tough, especially with pranks on Balestre - something you wouldn't get away with doing on Max Mosley today without having your superlicence revoked/Championship points being deducted/10 place grid penalty and a scandal following it, oh I could see it now...

"Nelson Piquet has been hit with a 10 place grid penalty for the next race after pouring a jug of water into Max Mosley's £10 jacket from Matalan during a very dull driver's briefing before today's race."
