MS said that SV has what it takes to become a champion.

Wow! Coming from a 7-time champ, this must be encouraging for that young lad. I hope he'll get a decent drive soon - BMW Sauber in 2009 would be a great option.

I took that into account when I stated my hopes for 2009 :P

At any rate, MS made this statement shortly after the RoC where he teamed up with SV and saw him drive in all kinds of cars.

First of all - not true. Second of all, MS developed the cars from lowly beginnings to his needs so that he could win the championship - that's a remarkable feat in itself.

SV has what it takes to become a champion. Remember hearing him yelling in China over the radio? Thats a true champion.

I thought Ferrari developed car for him. With a team of great engineers and loads of money. But I can imagine MS doing his car in a do-it-yourself manner over the years. I really do 8)

Honestly, I don't think that was such a great achievement from his side. When you think of it, it took much less time to Mika to develop McLaren to suit his needs... (or, more recently, FA to develop Renault). Unfortunately Mercedes engine turned dog after regulation changes (that, intentionally or not, did play in advantage for Ferrari) and technical excellence of Ferrari packages did let MS remain on top for so long... but I don't really think that was MS's exclusive, he was just lucky to be good driver in great car.

Oh well that 'll be it then  Forget about past records, attitude, comparison with team mate, test runs etc etc. Just put kids in a simulator, simulate a win and see who shouts the loudest. There you have your future champion

Nope, cause he doesn't sound like his foot got caught in the pedal. Trust me, thats the sound of a true champion.
