Cricket used to be the byword for fair play, but as Australia have just proved , following in the footsteps of the Indians and ourselves, those days are long gone. After 'Qualifying' , with no obvious reason, Vettel confidently predicted that Mercedes were celebrating , but it would be 'Ferrari's turn tomorrow.' It was further known that Ferrari were banking on a safety car at some stage. is it not possible they had formulated a way to make it happen ,if it hadn't by a certain point? It's interesting to note that Vettel was poised and ready when it did , and the tem responsible for the Safety Car intervention is actually Ferrari in everything but name -engine, running gear, even the body was designed by ex-Ferrari aerodynamicist Ben Agathangelou. When Haas Technical Chief Gunther Steiner was asked about the apparent ineptitude of his mechanics , he claimed they did do tyre changing rehearsals , but there was a problem of constantly changing personnel, but he was never pressed on why tis was ,or where they came from.

I think that it's unlikely, for HAAS to throw away, what would have been their best ever finish to help Ferrari win is conspiracy theory talk only. I have written many times that the conspiracy nuts will be running with this theory. Were Ferrari and Vettel fortunate, yes, should the rules have allowed for it to happen, that's up for debate, was it a deliberate attempt to cheat, no!

Haas lost a big haul of points which are converted to seven digit cash at the end of the season. I doubt that any 'collusion' was involved as the cost was far to high for a mid field team.

Seven digit Cost ?!! Ferrari wouldn't notice that with the money they're already invested in the team considering the help it's given them. I've not asserted it happened, merely it's possible, and no one has come up with a convincing reason why it couldn't . F1 is rigged in favour of the constructors, and it's their wishes that are paramount

Cost is to Haas (not Ferrari) for losing wcc points which are converted to $ at the end of the season.

It's ironic that when some drivers win under SC or VSC
it's just part of the game plan or part of a brilliant strategy;
but, if it's Ferrari, suddenly it's a fix.

Consistency is the key NOT subjectivity.

And, yes, I readily admit to having the same complaint in the
past; however, I also readily admitted that luck was on Seb's
side THIS time. We all know that luck is one of the elements
in any sport, as it's always about the timing.

sagi58 is spot on
Ferrari IS consistent - they've always manipulated their team places and tactics, they have made it clear they think it's their prerogative, long before they worked it so Hawthorne could beat Stirling . Unfortunately they're not alone, despite 'RULE' changes

And, that's NOT what I meant.

Besides, the SAME could be said about Mercedes and their hand in creating the rules
for these engines and then insisting the freeze on development not be lifted.

So, let's not have the pot calling the kettle black, eh? :thumbup:
