Again AKR youre niave if you think everyone knows English that migrated here. Talking the language and intergrating into society are a different thing all together. We now have suburbs where there is only one ethnic group isolated where if an Australian walked through would feel uneasy in his own country. We have ethnic gangs with the sudanese being the newest problem we had w***er gang violence in the main city street of Adelaide in broad day light where one kid was stabbed to death WTF? not even the Viatnamese or Leb gangs would be that stupid! but they are just as bad.

Oh and the car thing being the way in mainland Europe is all because of Napoleon and not because it makes sense....

Don't know of it happening in Melbourne. Either way these tiny Sudanese and the like people, if they tried it in Melbourne to an Italian, Greek or the like, they would get a belting that they wouldn't know what hit them. As for "wogs" and Australians. No problems as they all live in good friendship. In the northern suburbs of Melbourne for example, many Italians in Reservoir and many Macedonians in the next suburb after that called Thomastown. But in those suburbs there are many other ethnic background peoples including Anglo-Australians. No one has a problem walking through any of the suburbs. It doesn't even pass someones mind. And everyone speaks English too. What it appears is that the immigrants of problems are the ones coming maining from the African countries and middle Eastern countries like Iraq and Iran. They are a small minoirty and if they think they can do what they want, they will get another "Cronulla" event (You know what that was) where the Australians and European back ground people will give them a belting and remind them where they are. To be honest I don't particularily like the tiny group of outcast migrants hear as well. Those same people I can't stand in Italy as well and over there the problem is worse than in Australia. There they learn Italian but they are trouble makers and criminals. So I guess the problem is everywhere. I can't stand them, but then again I got to be careful how I say things sometimes because technical I to am an immigrant. But then again I am from a friendly European next door neighbouring country so I can get away with plenty of not so nice comments too.

Well, I'm English, and I don't like a lot of people on my little island... XD
A lot of them are rude, ignorant, lazy and small-minded. But I think that happens everywhere, not just here, lol.

I haven't been abroad much, so I can't say how other people have reacted to me being English. I'd hope they wouldn't hold it against me!

Yes to both and aparently is it legal to carry a hand gun about.
If that is the kind of thing that rocks your boat.

Small islands make me feel claustrophobic. Some years ago I spent a summer on Jersey - arrived on the ferry from St. Malo with my motorcycle. Narrow roads with speed limits of 40km/h - never got out of 2nd gear  Circled that darn place in less than 20 minutes - water everywhere, no escape :yikes:
