I very much doubt it was caused by KERS I have a strong feeling that is was the brake bias and the lack of rear down force that caused the lock up.

With reduced testing time during the season, those teams that bit the KERS bullet now may have an advantage later on ifthey can make KERS work for them.

I don't think it's that feasible to remove the KERS, the bodywork they have with them is surely shaped to accommodate it?

I thought Williams were running KERS? Their system is different to all the other teams' systems though - a mechanical flywheel instead of an electronic system.

I read somewhere that they said they were leaving it at home for the Oz race.

Williams will use KERS once they are very satisfied with the FW31's reliability and balance. At this rate it'll be probably soon. I hope they don't lose the balance when they put KERS on though, almost every Williams car for the past decade or so has had some form of balance problem and it was one of the reasons why the FW30 was so poor at aero-circuits last year.

To be honest, if I were in charge of Williams, I'd not run KERS if I felt it would damage the team's performance. Williams need a good season to entice sponsors, as well as just getting their back again.

I reckon it was Kimi - the sytem will have to be binned, at least at circuits like Albert Park.

Oh & I reckon I'd bet a fiver on Lewis' problem being KERS rather than gearbox too.

But yeah, look at the difference between Kubica and Heidfeld. Clearly KERS is doing no good whatsoever. If anything its a dis-advantage right now. As EJ said today, it's a silly device that adds nothing to the races. Drivers just push a button coming out of the corners. In my opinion I don't see the point. F1 should be more about driver talent, not who built the best hippy wagon.

If anything it causes more trouble than it's worth. Some drivers are disadvantaged or are forced to lose weight. It's causing safety issues with people now afraid to touch the cars. It's adding up the costs in sport where we're trying to reduce the cost. What does it give back to the veiwing public. Nothing.

I personally don't see the system lasting that long in F1. EJ was saying that American races apparently used something similar years ago and they dumped it. Hopefully the system soon becomes redundant.

I would wait until you see tomorrows start before you decide how bad KERS is and I expect KERS to get a lot better as teams develop it. Personally I would rather KERS not be in F1 but I do think it will give an overall performance advantage especially when the system gets more developed.

Does anyone actually know where there is a definitive list of who is and is not running KERS? I can't find one! It would be helpful if the timing could have a little "K" next to these cars.

Also, I thought we were meant to be getting details of fuel loads after quali 3, or is that next year?

NH was faster then RK trough q1, and first run on q2. I think he screw something later, wasn't really KERS fault.
Would be intresting to see more often when they are using it, how long it last and how long is taking to refuel it.
I think tomorrow we will find answers, but I wouln't write it off yet

Fuel levels should be out by now but i don't know where to find them!

Yeah, that's probably the case, but you could have cast your opinion in one of several threads talking about KERS and tomorrow's race.

As mentioned I think once the teams get the cars setup right the KERS will be more of an advantage than a disadvantage, time will tell though.
