I think this really is sad. I don't like it at all.
Truthfully, I think Bernie is on the payroll of a "certain" constructor to change these rules. He changed these rules for the drivers championship but not for constructors... Hmm, kinda seems horsey, i mean "fishy".
Imagine this scenario:
"Driver A" is running 1st. Gets a blowout 2/3 of the way through the race. Comes out of the pits somewhere in the back of the field. What is his incentive to keep racing. He will most likey not make it back to the front. So why not just garage the car and conserve the engine for the next race?
Who is going to race their hardest for 2nd place in the championship. After a driver has won 9 races, they can take the rest of the year off. Last years end of the season was one of the most exciting that I can remember. And by changing the rules, it could end up that fans will switch off before the end of the season. And what fun is it to know who won before you see the end. It's like a friend telling you the ending to a movie half way through. Kinda ruins things, and makes you want to smack your friend upside the head!
