I think the way that they have suddenly implemented this idea without consulting the teams is utterly out of order, and suggests some rather childish behaviour from the FIA and Bernie and I don;t like it one little bit. The setting up of FOTA was an excellent idea and the days when Bernie pushed the teams around and played them of of each other should be behind us but this decision seems to have re-ignited that issue.

As for the idea itself I am still undecided. On one hand we could see some more risky exciting driving and racing when people are going for the win, but on the other hand there are a few scenarios where the title could be taken in an undesirable way for most watching.

Overall I would prefer the new points system put forward by FOTA or just to have left things the way they were.

This is a complete disgrace. 12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1 was a much more sensible option. This devalues everyone who is not in 1st or second in a race.

Not impressed.

Jeez. I agree with you!!!!

Crap crap idea!!!!! For so many reasons. a guy could come 2nd in every race and one guy could win one race due to wierd weather conditions or loads of crashes. That race winning guy could score no other points (Bit like Panis that year at monaco)and yet win the championship. Well providing no one else ever won a race :rofl: but you get my drift.

Also this will be open to the FIA deciding who will win. if guys push for wins the FIA will penalise whoever they wish not to win, but not those they like. (Example that atrocious ruling that let Massa off and penalised the other guy who was innocently exiting the pits as requested. And i wont even mention Spa!)

Crap crap idea. COME ON FOTA!! stop acting like a nancy!

Kimi could get 120 points(no wins) and Hamilton could win 2 races and get 45 points and win championship.

SUCKS SO BAD.

and the cars look pretty dam close this season so its pretty likely somthing like that (though not as extreme) will take place.

Futhermore there's just gonna drivers who are 3rd/2nd and close to the 1st place driver acting like an idiot to win or taking out the person in P1.

I actually didn't think it was possible to make the "most race wins = world champion no matter what" idea could be made any worse. Then they announced THIS fiasco.

yeah but say massa wins 6races and hamilton 4, but hamilton comes second more times than massa, then i dont think its fear that hamilton wins, its actually not going to make that much diffrence as other than last year it wouldnt have made a diffrence again unitl 1989

But since 1989 how many time would the season have gone to the last race

I think that this is a good move by the FIA. Anything that incentives drivers to go for victory get a thumbs up in my book.

Wrong answer
#94931
This change forces drivers to go for wins and not play it safe and score points.

Only the top ones. After half a season, we'll only have 4 drivers or sumet going 4 a win.

I find it unfair how the car number is ecided by the Driver, bcause then that totally takes away the whole point of the constructors :banghead:

I agree, but what has that got to do with this poo rule.

Drivers should have their own from the positions in the WDC the previous year.
