I can see where you're coming from, but it's swing-abouts and roundabouts really. Massa should never have won in France or Belgium, for instance.

Even if he hadnt won in France and Belgium, a win in Hungary would still have won him the title.

I'm not sure that follows. In Brazil, McLaren went (much too) conservative because they knew they basically had to finish the race and do nothing silly to win the title. If things had turned out differently, McLaren and Hamilton's mindset may have been different.

Then there would have been half a chance Hamilton would have crashed.
History speaks for itself when he goes for it.

Even MclarenFan is giving Massa some credit, so that's VERY good progress for Felipe :)

But I think he will be taken seriously if he does very good this season. And somehow i feel he will be a better and stronger driver.

By the way... Massa didnt spin in Monaco. But he spun at Sepang... and it was dry! And remember, he should have won Singapore too.

Well, by that token Alonso's (very fast) car shouldn't have failed in qualifying, which would have put him right at the front, etc etc...

This can go on all night. And it just might! :P

That's a bit unfair. I said I had great admiration for Massa's efforts in 2008, even if I felt he was not perhaps as skilled as, say, Raikkonen. However, working harder and showing more determination than your rivals can atone for whatever wee bit you may lack in skill. Massa proved that, for instance, by wiping the floor with Raikkonen in 2008.

Agreed.
Fail to take Kimi seriously and he will probably win the title...

Funny thing... Massa IS sporting new facial hair for 2009. A full goatee, tache included.
