* Lap-by-lap knockout is retarded...
* What Stig said about changing 2nd place to 6 points so the guys in 1st/2nd have something to fight for could make it more interesting...
* Hmm don't know about a "binary points"... It's better with less points too, closer.
* Adding a "sprint race" after qualifying might be another idea (like the format in A1 GP), but then it would be too much like A1 I guess - theres already the KERS factor (*cough* A1 powerboost came first *cough* :P). I know it's not the same, but it's still push-to-pass.
* The current system is sufficient, adding a point for pole would be a good idea but thats about it.

Here's a good idea for those of us who liked the old classic points system but would still like to see points down to 8th...

1st. 10 points2
2nd. 6 points
3rd. 5 points
4th. 4 points
5th. 3 points
6th. 2 points
7th. 1 point
8th. 0.5 points

Now half points would make things quite interesting, that's by how much Niki Lauda won the title from Prost in 1984.

Max would be more likely to double all the points there to get bigger totals. That way all the people who only know F1 from "The Sun" could be amazed when all the point-scoring records get broken.

Yeah, it makes me laugh when some record books state Ralf Schumacher as "the most successful Williams driver ever" in terms of points scored when most of them will have come from the 2003 and onwards system. :bs:

This qualifying format as it is seems fine to me. All they have to do is spice it up by adding the incentive of a point for driver and team for the pole sitter. This new idea is crazy

I didn't think he had quite that many points. That doesn't look good for Williams. :hehe::blush:

Why would they want to change the qualifying format? Its the same deal with the points system. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Totally agree
why don't they just leave things alone
its all working ok at the moment, so why change it?
