Takuma Sato seems to have moved closer to securing a racing seat with the Toro Rosso team after confirming he will test again at Jerez next week.
The Japanese driver, left without a seat after the demise of the Super Aguri team earlier this year, has tested for the Italian squad twice already.
"We obviously see this as a positive step but still nothing is decided for the 2009 racing season," said Sato's manager Andrew
Gilbert-Scott.
Sato will join the team at Jerez for the test on 10-11 December.
Toro Rosso are yet to confirm their drivers for 2009, with Sato, Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastien Buemi in the running.
Buemi will drive all three days of the test, while Bourdais will be on track on the first two.
Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz said last month, however, that Buemi was very likely to land one of the drives.
