If I were in charge at Honda my driver line up would be
Bruno Senna and Rubens Barichello
Reasons………….
Lets start with Bruno.
Honda need a young hot shot for the future. They probably need to aim for 2 or 3years in the future and want a young guy to groom for then. Senna has proved himself both in previous categories (he could have won GP2 but for dogs and pit lane penalties) and he’s done well in the recent Honda test. Also his name is a marketing bonus!
Now Barichelo:-
When everything is right Jenson can drive supremely, but if something is out of kilter-tyres, track, weather, set up then he struggles. Rubens is better able to drive round problems or think his way out of them. He has proved this by his better showing this year than Jenson. His experience and ability in this area will be invaluable next year with the new technology.
Also, Jenson is still hungry for success though he is getting too long in the tooth, he will not be keen to have a potential young hot shot beside him. Rubens however has 1 maybe 2 years left in F1 and knows that realistically he is not up for world champion. He would be keen to play the team game and help develop the team and a young driver. The fact that it is Senna is kind of special since the great Ayrton mentored Rubens when he was the young newcomer. Rubens would be happy to repay the service to the nephew.
So Honda, there you have it…best option for you next year.
Ok now you can shoot me down!
