I think BMW made a mistake in halting their 08 development. Kimi and Heikki were struggling, Massa and Lewis made mistakes all season, and the BMW drivers and car were extremely consistent... The reasonable expectations would have been that Alonso's pts should have gone to BMW.
I wouldnt blame either Kubica or Heidfeld... To me they did a pretty good job. But now in 09 they'll have to worry about Kimi waking up, Massa and Lewis making fewer mistakes; and to help, a charging Renault and Vettel. These seem like more variables than in 08.
