From F1 Live:
"We tried our best, but they have not kept up their obligations for the past three years," he told Auto Motor und Sport in an interview.
"We don't have to worry," Bernie said. "There are four of five new people who are just waiting to get a Grand Prix."
Although they are trying to save the Canadian Grand Prix I don't think Bernie will want it on the calwndar because he will proboboly want that space for a grand prix in Asia or the middle east.
I fail to understand how they couls even ask why it was dropped. F1 is a business like anything else. I my clients dont pay me I will have less finance at my disposal and i will put them on notice. same thing here..... I guess you right - however I think they came up with a payment arrangement of some some. if they popped out the money that meeting would be over in a second and we may have the advantage of a longer racecard come 2009
I think they dropped a huge bag of money on the table for Bernie to start reconsidering.

Their major gripe was that they weren't even told.

They got their information in the same way as us - the 2009 season calendar was released and Canada wasn't on it.
