Yeah, that's why I can see why Lewis did it. Although more so if he was in 9th or 10th. Can't really see 4 cars in the top 11 being penalised to the extent that he makes the points.... Of course we don't yet know the outcome of the Massa / Bourdais investigation, but it's unlikely that regardless it will affect Hamilton's position to any meaningful extent.

Well, one point is always crucial, particularly at this stage of the game. It was a free move for Hamilton, so he may as well have done it. It's like the lottery. No matter how long the odds are, you can't win it if you're not in it.
