Why couldn't they have been pinkwith little flower patterns over the rubber?

Much better idea!!!
Okay this is going to far. F1 is a sport not some kind of political statment machine. Also making motor racing go green is beyound stupid. All of motor racing in the world combined would not even budge any emmisions decetions. Thats for all you folks that unlike me accept the premise of man made climate change.
Is climate change happening maybe so, but we have nothing to do with it. There is no where near enough info to base any real scintific opinion on. We have had accurate weather information for only about 100 years, and accurate gobal weather measurments for even less than that, and to base a major major scintific opinion that may affect the population of the world on this is asinine.
If you know your world history you will see that the earth has gone through many warm and cold periods thoughout the millennia, and we did not have cars back then.
Sorry for the rant folks but this kind of crap really gets me fired up, and between this and the Idiot Brothers Bernie and Mad Max screwing with this sport just pisses me off.
Like I said before in the engine discussion thread I do not think that there should be any rules retarding development in F1, but this develoment should be done with the spirit of competition in mind and not some political agenda.

Pass me the sick bucket...
will suit Honda but doesnt really suit the McLaren or Ferrari that was wearing them at the launch
They don't look all that bad on the actual cars.
Green, pink or purple I could care less about what color the stripes are on a tire, let's just race.
I like them

Don't get me wrong I am all for innovation. But what I cannot stand is being forced to do so. Forcing innovation will only lead to failure or at the very least a haphazard solution (Hibrid Cars). YOU must let it happen by itself. By giving the people on the frontier (F1) freedom to do what they wish and experiment any way they want.
As I said before. F1 should have no contruction restrictions except a min. weight, a standard car box size to work in, 4 wheels, and an engine that drives the rear wheels.
That give the engineers complete freedom to design god knows what to drive the cars, and this new technology will eventially trickle down to the rest of us.
Remember nessesity is the mother of invention not goverment mandates.
But F1 has to cut costs and go green.
There was hot and cold periods in our history, but these didn't have the billions of tons of carbon emissions that we produce now each year.
It is better that F1 goes this way, they need to remain at the pinnacle in innovation - not just on the track but on the road to.
Heck the way fossil fuels are running out, the only F1 we'll have is the drivers using their feet like in the Flintstones - unless development carries on
I can't really remember the last true innovation to come out of F1 before KERS, to be honest.
