Dont get me wrong. Check out my Avatar, I think Ayrton was the greatest. I also think Lewis has the potential to be up there. Senna wasnt catapulted straight into a topline drive. He could make his mistakes out of the limelight. Neither was he fighting for the championship in his rookie year. He did however put it in the pit wall at Detroit and also in the wall at Monacco.
Mistakes will be made . All sorts of mistakes. You cant say some are good mistakes, some are worse- they're mistakes. Ayrton didnt make many granted. Lewis is only in his 2nd year on a very tight learning curve.

Did he compare himself to Senna?? Maybe. Maybe not. So what.

Guess what they said about Senna in his Lotus years " he was seen by many in the pitlane as arrogant and self absorbed"

The best are arrogant. I bet if you were back in 84 watching Senna come on the scene you'd be saying exactly the same things about him as you're saying about Lewis.

You are right Senna was a little arrogant and maybe Lewis could be as good as him. But until he wins that title I would check the arrogance at the door

A little?

This image says it all.

Go to hell Lewis Hamilton! Nigel Mansell was better than Lewis Hamilton. At least Nigel Mansell can say he has won a World Championship. Now comparing himself to Senna, that is plain dumb. I guess that is what you expect to hear from a dumb person like Lewis Hamilton anyway......................

For a start it proberly isn't true and some Media BS.

And there's no use calling him Dumb lol because hes alot richer than you.

You have issues to go off one one like that especialy since senna didn't even drive for your beloved Ferrari.

He is rich? So that makes him a better person does he? I think you seriously have issues. And he isn't all that smart. he still needs daddy at 23 years of age to manage his carreer. Yeah really intelligent he is. Maybe his dad should manage his son's big mouth and somehow teach his son to control what stupid things come out of his mouth. And regarding Ayrton Senna, so what if he didn't drive for my "Beloved" Ferrari. He was a champion was he not? Only an idiot would say he wasn't and I am not an idiot. And besides, even though short, he did drive for Williams and I don't mind Williams so there you have it. :)

Like Senna? Maybe yes, maybe no. Trouble is we really cannot see the future, right? But we can see the present with our eyes wide open. So what do I see now? I see a young brilliant driver with a big bad mouth named Lewis Hamouthon.

its things like this that really make hamilton my least favorite driver. honestly, all his success is because of mclaren. look at an up and coming driver like vettel and what he can do in a torro rosso. if hamilton was put in that position he would easily get frustrated and start to make mistakes because of the lack of podiums being in a midfield team. of course hamilton drives well, hes in a MERCEDES! he has been sponsored by mercedes for most of his life. well basically, what im trying to say is all of hamiltons success is from his seat. i dont think he has the genuine talent to be the great driver he keeps saying he is

Oooh, you'd better get your coat! You'll get some heavy flak for this from some corners here :D

LOL Mercades! for a start lets call Williams Toyota team 2 shall we? or Red Bull Renault team 2 get my point? its Mclaren! Just because Merc supply (very good) engines is no need to start renaming a team.

Secondly lots of drivers have been sponsored by Mclaren and other F1 teams such as Wes Graves who didn't make it to F1 simply because he wasn't good enough.

So Lewis must be pretty good, we know this because:

1. In 07 in his rookie year when it was expected he would be lucky to get a podium he took the piss out of Alonso at the 1st race even! Alonso who many regard as the best driver in F1 he showed up and almost beat to the title.

2. This year he's totaly out done Hekki who is a average driver showing lewis really is special.

3. Silverstone most cars a spinning off the track Lewis is building a lead of over 1min thats just amazing!

I think if you stuck lewis in that Torro rosso in Monza he would of been able to deliver the goods just like vettle. Your correct about one thing the car does play a big part in F1 but lewis thoughly deserves that seat and to say otherwise your just a fool

Well, you've shown yourself to be a right twit. You say, 'all [Hamilton's] success is because of mclaren', but exclaim two sentences later, 'of course hamilton drives well, hes in a MERCEDES!' Make your mind up. Which is it: McLaren or Mercedes? That aside, you clearly have no idea of McLaren and Mercedes operate. Either that or you are trying to whip up trouble - attempts which has failed, because you have revealed yourself to be a moron.

And, as longbow rightly says, McLaren has sponsored numerous drivers in the past and still do so. For a driver's sponsorship money and other such support to continue, he has meet certain standards. Hamilton clearly did. So, yeah, a lot of other drivers were not fortunate enough to be in Hamilton's position, but he remained under McLaren's care due to his own hard work and talent.

And why do you think McLaren paid so much attention to an "average" driver?? Its not like they're stuck for folk wanting to drive for them. Did you see anything Hamilton did before F1??? Or do you imagine he just wafted in from somewhere

Well sooner or later it will be a MERCEDES. Despite what Ron Dennis thinks, he cannot be around forever and then who do you think will get the remaining share of McLaren. :D

I don't agree. There are many out there who work just as hard and are just as good as Lewis Hamilton who would do well in that McLaren seat. Lewis Hamilton is just a lucky b@stard who has that seat and for example had Vettel had that same McLaren seat, who knows he could be running for the World Drivers Title as well.

wow, okay if your going to pick out things like that ill clarify for you. i said two different names because the team name is mclaren-mercedes. seriously its almost like saying "no i dont drive a benz, i drive a mercedes." yes i know they are different but the two are one team, using one name references the whole team. and yes i did see what he did when he was younger. lets take karting...of course he was good in karting when he was younger, he had a mclaren-mercedes kart. hes been all over ron dennis his whole life. its for this reason why he places so high. yes he has talent but the car he drives greatly enhances it. ill show you with this example. mclaren-mercedes, these past years, is always on the front of the grid. kovalainen, in renault last year did not place or qualify at the top of the grid. he finished with only 30 points. once he went to mclaren-mercedes he started scoring poles and has bagged 1 win. did he become a much better driver in 1 year?...not likely. it was the car! like i said, put hamilton in a different car and hes not great at all.

1.probably due to the problems between hamilton and alonso and the bitter rivalry. inside mclaren, the team was probably not balanced correctly and if dennis is going to support one driver or the other he is going to side with hamilton because hamilton has grown up with ron
2.you really cant compare yourself to hekki and say if your better you are "special." as you said, heikki is and "average driver." beating an average driver does not make you special.
3.it shows the mclaren does very well in water conditions as shown even in other races while ferrari greatly lagged behind.

there are plenty of others that try just as hard and deserve the seat much more like AKR said. the drivers i am talking about are kubica or vettel for example

No you just said he has talent so i guess youre not a fool!
But like McLaren fan has said i guess he had no talent to even reach F1? I guess his GP2 world title was all McLarens work as well?

yes he has talent but the way everyone talks about him makes him seem like the next schumacher or senna. those men had genuine skill and that skill was something they were born with and just knew. this point should be known but if you dont believe me then i can easily give examples. all i am saying is he is very overhyped and if you put him in a midfield car, he will not compete the same. sure, simply jumping in a mclaren doesnt automatically make you the next world champion but it sure does help a lot. its this extra help that many lewis fans are mistaking for talent.
