There is not as much bias as people make out but it is still present, and they are definately incompetent, smeg-brained goons.

(why did the Sutil thread get locked? :hehe: )

Because it was total BS and if a member actually took the time to use the 'search' option thing's would be different.

I think that Max Mosely and other FIA officials don't like McLaren. That therefore is theoretically a bias against McLaren. But that doesn't mean that this bias is expressed in decisions.

Though, having said that, I think the current decision stinks. I still think that the old adage "never attribute to malice that which can equally be explained by stupidity" applies. But if it is due to a conspiracy, I see it as anti-McLaren rather than pro Ferrari.

Certainly I think that we need racers, not politicians and lawyers, in charge of the FIA. MM may have raced and worked in teams once, but it's so long ago that it's irrelevant. Someone with much more recent experience as well as a lifelong dedication to racing is what is needed. Jean Todt being the prime candidate. No matter how much the McLaren lambs protest.

Sorry but politically appointing Jean Todt would be WAY too hot to handle, whatever his experience. He's CEO of Ferrari for :censored:'s sake!

I think Todt would remain as he is now if he was appointed the head of the FIA! that is to do what is in Ferrari's best interests with no exceptions. Only a blind Ferrari :sheep: would think otherwise :hehe:

Even if Todt did resign from his role as Ferrari's CEO, Ferrari runs through his veins. I would never tolerate him as head of the FIA. So far, a number of people have put said they would be interested in the job, most noteworthy would be Alain Prost. He has experience of the good, the bad and the ugly in Formula One, both as a driver and team boss. He would be my preferred choice.

Yeah, he really showed how well he could run a Formula one team. Skilled driver, but not an organiser.

Prost would've had much more success had Panis not broken his legs in 1997, i am pretty damn sure of that.

Maybe the team would have lasted a bit longer, but I don't believe that Panis's accident was fundamental to the failure of the team.

The reason the team went bust was because Gauloises pulled out, rather than any incompetence from Prost.

And he had nothing with the sponsor pulling out, and not lining up another one?

Lots of teams lost sponsors, but carried on.

Perhaps not ultimately, however the amount of momentum they lost then cannot be ignored. Panis hauled a massive portion of Prost GP's total points in F1 in those 7/8 races...

Nobody wanted to sponsor them. As a matter of fact, it's a wonder the team struggled on for as long as it did without Gauloises. These things happen from time to time in business. It's not a sign of Prost being a bad businessman or manager.
