hey guys

Well, Yesterday was sure a day to remember for me! I learned a hell of a lot from being in massive grids, and sometimes you can be punished for being "over agressive".
heat 1: Started 15th, made my way up to 8th. 2nd last corner I went for a lunge (Fair move IMO) and there was contact, I went airbourne and finished 11th.
heat 2: Started 15th (again), made my way to 8th (again!) and yep, you guessed it... I went for another lunge into 2nd last corner and ended up losing a position as a result..
heat 3:Started 4th. Took lead on lap 1, and was demoted to 2nd on lap 2 by the dude I took out on Saturday (found out he was 4th in Britain last year) and we pulled away from the rest, he took the win by 0.62 seconds, and we were both 3 seconds ahead of the others! Only 0.03 off the winners fastest lap, so I knew anything was possible in the final.
Final: Started 8th. Made my way to 7th on turn 1. We got the jetting wrong for the final, meaning I had very little pull from the corners.. which left me very vunerable to attack. I tried to get by into turn 1, but was squeezed so much I had 2 wheels on the grass, and had to brake up. I was still in 8th at this point, until my mate took me off the circuit, and we both went onto the grass, and I regained 10th, where I finished. Later, to be moved to 8th as one of the top 3, was DQ'd.
Felt pretty sorry for my mate, Joe. he is in the same boat as me, talented but without the money.. he needed to finish 3 places ahead of his rival to win the title, but didnt manage to and only claimed 2nd in championship, I was pleased though that he came over to apologize for his lunge, and I could clearly see he was gutted, and he meant it.
Well for me this weekend was a MASSIVE learning curve for me, I learned to take every opportunity, and to be a lot more aggressive! I scored 121 points in the NKF this weekend, out of a possible 130.. making me the 3rd highest points scorer at one round this season (In My class), and remember, I'd never been to this track before saturday!
On an even better note, I think my performance over the weekend has prompted my dad and grandad to take the plunge, and we are seriously thinking about doing the British Championships in 09, and if we can have that performance over a whole season, we could even make top 15!
So yes, We are very happy, even after a slightly dissapointing final, my dad just came up to me and said, "That's what we came for", after I complained about being taken out twice

Thanks for the support

Sam
