New user prompted to register after the flabbergasting decision by the stewards. If I recall rightly , didn't Hamilton go off track because Raikkonen went wide on him to prevent the pass? Seems quite dodgy to penalize him for cutting the chicane to get back on track and conceding the position gained by going off track. Is Hamilton supposed to depress his pit lane rev limiter for a certain amount of time so that Raikkonen can get sufficiently far enough ahead of him to make the stewards happy? Screams of the outcome being predetermined. I am a bit disheartened by all this because I love F1, but this leaves a bad taste in one's mouth after a terrific finish to the race with passes and spins and rain to have the thing overturned at the seemingly arbitrary whims of a ruling body rather than the racers.

Thankfully, some Ferrari fans see sense, but that fact that over half of them still think what happened was in some way fair is shameful.

That's not over half of Ferrari fans. That's over half of the people who have voted so far on a Ferrari forum with a particular slant.

Drop in to discuss the latest news and events surrounding the glorious Ferrari F1 team and F1 in general.

So in that forum you get a higher than average concentration of the lunatics. Have a look at other forums, even Ferrari forums, you'll see a more balanced opinion.

While there is no equivalent McLaren fan forum. So we get the equivalent McLaren lunatics spread all around the place.

That's it - I've had enough of Formula Ferrari and the clowns with dodgy morals and German fancy dress that run the FIA!

How can we take our favourate motorsport racing seriously?

There was never any doubt in my mind that there were NO GROUNDS for a penalty - and look back at some of the dodgy things Ferrari have done over the years! and not even a smack of the wrist!

Formula Ferrari will die of they don't get some sort of impartiality back!

Well, how else are we to come to conclusions about the views of Ferrari fans? As with any scientific process, all you can do is take a sample of of a particular thing or group and work with that. Having read through several Ferrari fora, we can deduce that about half of the tifosi, give or take, say, percent or so, actually believe what happened today was just. Now, if the decision was fifty-fifty, then I would have no grounds for complaint, but today was a sham. I know it. You know it. Long-standing and casual Formula One fans know it. And even a fair whack of the tifosi have said so. All of this shows how despicable Hamilton's punishment really was.

Last week - They didnt crash in the pit so no need to penalise.

That is inaccurate: a financial penalty of 10,000 Euros was imposed on Massa as a result of his pit-lane incident in Valencia. I think it was appropriate.

You take an unbiased random sample. I guess you haven't studied statistics. And you only want to see what you want to see.

As has been said by others on here, even the "vast majority" (direct quote) of Ferrari fans don't approve of this penalty.

You wanted the evidence and that's what it is, whether you don't like it or really don't like it.

Frankly I am heartened that there are around 40% of tifosi indicating that they think the punishment is not just!

I am neutral when it comes to Hamilton, or at least was. This decision though goes beyond that because it damages the sport as a whole, and I believe that this will have raised the eyebrows of many people who are being drawn to the sport by the excitement of the last two seasons. This is not good for Tifosi or whoever. Frankly though, there have been far more scandalous decisions made in the sport, and sadly no changes came before, nor are they likely to come any time soon, mainly because where someone loses out, someone else tends to gain, so one group of us get angry, and another accepts a little gift from the devil and justifies it to lighten the guilt. The sport would be better for people seeing this thing for what it is, and not for what they can get from it. Sadly, for the rest of us, this type of thing does seem to favour Ferrari more often than not, and translates into antagonism against their fans.

The Tifosi can do something about this by speaking out against it as a group, following the lead of a minority among them. I just hope that minority has enough influence to claw back a little respect for Ferrari and the sport of Formula 1.

As much as I want to like the outcome of the race, I cant. I am a Ferrari fan at heart, but the decision of the stewards to take away Hamilton's victory is wrong. I do agree that he did gain an advantage when he cut the corner, but I dont think it was worth a penalty like the one that was handed. I think they couldve warned Hamilton, but it definitely was not fair.

What planet are you on? We are gauging the opinion of Ferrari fans, so how can we take an unbiased sample of them? Whichever Ferrari fan you choose, they almost always be biased because they are Ferrari fans!

FIA made a terrible mistake. Every F1fun is very angry tonight. For some people is very diffiecult to accept that this year Hamilton has a better and faster car than Kimi and Masa. It's ok. We'll come to Monza and break you in your own racetrack. In Monza with or without penalties we'll take the first and second place. And one question. does anybody remembers how M.schumacher won his first championship? thanks. Hamilton for ever
