ive never really liked KR, always thought he doesnt really care about the racing more the money, he has great talent but hes not like MS, FA, LH who always want to win
Eh? He hounded MS to the Wire in 2003 and Alonso in 2005 (robbed by crap reliability) and came back from 26 points behind to take the WDC last year (without Massa's help, until the very last race) and he had reliability issues last year and you say he doesn't want to win.

Are we talking about the same guy? To me, he's one of the most determined, talented drivers in F1. Just because he's had a few off races of late, he's being written off by everybody.

As for Alonso: Massa and he do not like each other (remember the shouting match last year and the blocking in 2006?). Alonso will want to be #1 and Massa will not want that. Kimi is being paid zillions and even Ferrari can't afford to pay both their drivers the type of money that Alonso will want.

Alonso needs to do what MS did: join a team with potential and build it up around himself. Ferrari were nowhere when MS left Benetton (who had just won 2 championships) and they continued to be nowhere for 2 seasons before Todt, Brawn, Byrne and co got it together. Alonso's bbest bet is either to stay at Renault (if they can afford him) or more to Honda and hope that Ross Brawn can pull another bunny out of a beret.

I hope Alonso stay's with Renault.

He goes where he can win titles he will drop renault like a cheap piece of meat if it meant he could go to a team that would have a championship winning car

Well we all know Renault is capable of winning WDC's and WCC's so that is why I would like to see him make a longterm commitment to the team who helped him win two WDC's. 99% of my opinion is also based on knowing how important it is to build a relationship in all that it entail's.

It continues to surprise me why people see Renault as such a great team. They over-performed in 2005 and 2006 and, especially in the former, profited from the bad luck of others. You've got to give them credit for getting the basics right (i.e. ensuring their car is reliable) and because their budget is so much lower than a lot of teams, but where Renault are now is about their level. Even if they do build a good car, they don't have the resources to develop it as much throughout the season, so they gradually lose their advantage, as seen in the second half of 2006. With budget caps, perhaps Renault could be a force again, but you can say that about many other teams. As they won't be around for a while yet, Alonso should move to a bigger team. I don't think that he should do it next season, however, for the new rules may cause a few upsets and there's no prospect of him driving for Ferrari by the sounds of it. He may as well stay with Renault next season and see the way the land lies in a year or so.

Possibly, but as I said above, you have to seriously question Renault's ability to progress. I think one of the reasons Alonso is a little frustrated is because he felt the team could at least make some progress, but they haven't really. If anything, they've fallen into the clutches of other teams.

Surely If you win when your the underdog then its better than If you were in the best car taking all the glory because its given to you on a plate?

So its a bit uncalled for and harsh, mr MclarenFan to question other peoples support for teams! not cool. not cool at all

Im sure you would love it if your Hitler'esque dreams of everyone admiring the sun flowing from the magnificent mclarens teams arses and basque in all there glory, but its not gonna happen...

Show me where I questioned your support for Renault. All I said was that I don't think they have the capacity to challenge for title unless sweeping budget caps come into Formula One. This is a view many Renault supporters hold themselves.

Also, I don't like being compared in any way to Hitler or Nazism. It's also not right to compare McLaren to these, too. Moderators should step when such things are posted.

renault do need the budget cap, cause where they are now fits right in with the money aspect, toyota are hauling themselves up, and should be, the rest are sort of where they should be give or take, its honda that are the misfits atm
