Ok so where does the battle stand?
Seems like the MP4 has the superior suspension and hence the best mechanical grip. Very good at chicanes... And while most were assuming the F2008 to have the best straight line / top speed, it was the Mclaren setting the fastest 3rd sector and highest speed at the trap in Montreal. So definitely surprised there... although i must say it came from the better mechanical grip at the exit of Turn 10, but still that top speed was alarmingly better than the Ferraris.
Ferrari seems better in Aero and with race set-ups. The set ups maybe because the 2 drivers are more experienced and have a more simmilar style so they have twice the time and data to work with...
Another crucial thing is I'm guessing Bridgestone over estimated tyre spinning and heating as a result of lack of TC, and made the compound harder to heat up (also has anyone noticed you noticed this year has been colder?)... in the end this is hurting the smoother drivers, in the begginig of stints and in Q, and helping the raw pacers like Robert and Hamilton. Eventually the others level up in the race... but sometimes the damage has already been done.
Was kinda hoping to see how much fuel Mclaren had in Montreal, but that 1st stop must have been unscheduled for both... so again, as in Monaco, how much fuel did the MP4 actually have compared to the F2008
