What do you think the changes to the f1 calendar for next year will be ?

Obviously, it has been announced that there will be no race at magny cours , but i think that san marino and a us street race (not indy) should return
and possibly a return for adelaide

Well the contract at Albert Park ends at 2010 I beleive. I think they should so a street circuit on The Strip in Las Vegas, or go to Road America.

Another obvious change will be the Indian Grand Prix.

No French race, please excuse my French but that is duck! Eccelstone you are a moron! Well at least replace it with another French race. Not having a GP in France is like not having one in Italy, Germany or England. France's history in GP racing goes back to the early days of GP to the very early 1900s. France also has French teams that race. (I don't need to say who they are obviously). No France in 2009 is obsurd. I am not even a lover of French and things French and this dropping of Magny Cours has really pissed me right off!

It'd be great if the re-surfaced the Sydney Harbour Bridge and had a race that went over and back, hairpin style. Then around the Opera House and Circular Quay.

But that'll never happen. I've heard rumors about Eastern Creek in NSW as well.

Were'nt they thinking about doing a street course in Sydney anyways?

I can only hope, it'd be fantastic.

If only fantasy could be made in reality. Does anyone remember the PC game, Need 4 Speed 2 (Also there was a Need 4 Speed 2 SE which included 3D rendering)? One of the tracks on it was based on the streets of Sydney and it had the Harbour Bridge in it which you raced on. I can't remember if it had that hairpin though, the one that goes up to the harbour bridge. I know the hairpin though in reallife as I have been there. Would be like a Monaco style tight hairpin. *LOL*

Indeed, the attrition rate at this year's race disguised the fact it was a boring procession. You hardly even get exciting races at Catalunya even in the 3.5 Litre era. I wrote an article about how dull Catalunya is and it's up on f1rejects.com.

I hope the French Grand Prix is NEVER dropped, like AKR said the French GP goes right back to the very beginning of Motor Racing. I'm all for it being moved from Magny Cours because it's another yawn-fest track and none of the drivers like it either. Bernie still wants that Paris street race, but why not Paul Ricard?

That Abu Dhabi track looks good and will suit next year's cars right down to the ground.

Paul Ricard was dropped after the 1990 season. Don't understand why though as it was a great track. Bring it back.....

Even the shorter version of Paul Ricard - forced into effect after De Angelis' death in a test session without adequate marshalling - was a great track. The 1990 race was also a good one too where it almost finished with a Leyton House 1-2.

There are some Grands Prix that can't be dropped unless the circumstances for them to be dropped are compelling. The French Grand Prix is one of those. I completely dislike Magny Cours, but I feel the Grand Prix should have been held their until a replacement was found. Generally speaking, I like street circuits, but they can be processional, so Monte Carlo, Valencia, and Singapore is adequate. A high quality track (so one not designed by Tilke) would be preferable.

A track that should be dropped is Catalunya. Sadly, it won't be happening. The place has a long time left on its contract. Hopefully Valencia will turn out to be an excellent track. If it does, use it for the Spanish Grand Prix and give Catalunya the shove off the calendar it should have got years ago.

Time is running out for the US Grand Prix to be brought back. I know the people at Indianapolis are trying very hard to bring Formula One back to the states. Formula One is a world sport, so there also should be a Grand Prix in the US. The odds of seeing it next year are, however, less than 50/50!

If they had chosen Laguna Seca over Phoenix back in 1989, I reckon Laguna Seca would be still on the calendar right now.
