this was done from the gap he and the front runners built up over the midpack, the wheel came off towards the end of the lap so he didnt lose heaps of time coming into the pits and the time making the stop and coming back on track was still enough time to get out infront P5 down

Plus, the pit lane in Monaco is really short. I think the shortest in all of F1. And since it was wet, the average speed was much slower... so, losing 20 sec when people are doing 250 kmh is a lot worse that losing the same 20 secs when they are going around at 150 kmh. That's why the best time to pit is while the SC is out...

Hammie's flats have ussually happened very close to the pits... so he doesn't lose much time. Even more so, he got a flat on his slow down lap after the checkered... Lucky fella. The "luck of the Champions" i call it :|

Well lets hope his luck holds!
He wasn't so close to the pits last year in Turkey when his tyre went he was at turn 8, still quite a way to get back

Can anybody tell me cause I don't understend something. I saw the race again and there was something wired. How is it possible that Hamilton lost the wheel. He was passed by a lot of drivers and come back on 4th position after pit stop. I think that he make one lap less than other drivers.

He was only passed by three cars. Behind Alonso Rosberg broke his front wing on the first lap but soldiered on for two or three laps, and with Trulli not going too quick anyway this created the gap that Hamilton fitted back into (Trulli was about 30s behind Lewis on Lap 5). LH and Massa were miles faster than everyone in the first few laps, and since his problem came late in the lap as it happened Hamilton didn't actually lose that much time. Also since they were all going slower due to the rain the time lost cruising back to and through the pits was proportionally less than it would have been in the dry.

that was brilliant!!! On the edge of my seat throughout!

I was just swearing and cursing througout the race! Idi u trie pičke materinu Hamilton!

You know, swearing in language that most people don't understand doesn't really make it OK... though I was told it is common practice in, err, that part of the world...

I am sure you know what I wrote means anyway. If you don't it is in Croatian so I am sure one of your Croatian, Serbian or even Slovenian friends can tell you what it means. I am not translating that on this forum as not appropriate.

You missed my point. I do know what it means (as such things are among the first stranger learns there), and simple fact that other people do not understand doesn't justify using it here. Razumesh?

I thought it was just everton supporters that were bitter.... the best driver on the day won.
and all coverage of sport is bias if you were watching on Italian TV the they were proberbly robbed of victory not beaten by the best driver.

I don't like the fact that you support Liverpool, but I like your thinking bro.

Liverpool are more scum than Man United themselves. In the EPL its Blue is the colour, football is the game, we're altogehter and wining is our aim......... Man U were so lucky to win on penalties but I don't want to talk about it ok.

Try taking a look at the last 20 years of sport and then tell me were the vast majority of trouble is at sporting events. Then decided were the scum come from.

Are you implying that is Italy? Violence at recent Italian football games is childs play compared to the Hasel 1985 tragedy. Anyway we are in the wrong area to discuss this so if you really wish to continue it, then there is that football thread. :)

Lewis did marvellous Job to win the Monaco race. To drive back with one of your wheels flat takes alot of driver skill and talent. My money is on Lewis Hamilton to win the 2008 WDC,
