On his second stint he pulled out 40 seconds on the others thats not the one stop he needed but almost 2 stops. Pretty impressive id say given the conditions.

That was mostly because Ferrari/FM switched to a one stop strategy (in anticipation of the forecast rain that didn't come), so they filled his tank to the rim and he was heavy and slow. Under regular circumstances FM was at least as fast as LH, so there's hope for Canada

Lewis was also fuelled heavy for the second stint, they filled him after he hit the wall and thats when he was really pushing. I think its hard to compare relative speed in such a mixed up race. Filipe drove well though specially as its a track he doesnt like. who gows well at Canada, I cant remember?

I witnessed LH's first ever F1 victory in Montreal last year.

:D:D:D Well that bodes well! Are you watching it this time?

Kimi - Sutil crash.
I feel so sorry for him but Kimi did a good job to nearly save it. (Missed by that much as Max would say)

missed by a bees sausage mike?

yeah it was just unfortunate he broke and hit a damp patch, you cant penalize him for that, its not like he was doing some bonzai overtake attempt.

heres what Gascoyne had to say

"Raikkonen always looked like doing stupid and in the end he did," the 'Rottweiler' barked. "If that was the other way around, and it was a little Force India driver hitting the World Champion, then he would be facing a one- or two-race ban. We've asked the stewards to take a look and act accordingly."

Yeh I don't think you can really blame Kimi but I would not begrudge anyone if he was punished for it.

Two people drove brilliantly and flawlessly today - Robert Kubica and Adrian Sutil.

Exactly.
While Lewis and Mclaren had great pace and capitalised on the oportunities they got, things worked out to into their favour as well. This doesn't take any credit away from Lewis or Mclaren! but also doesn't mean Lewis drove a perfect race. But it doesn't matter. The points are where they stand right now and the teams should know what they have to do...

Aargh! Does anyone know how frustrating it is watching a thread about this whilst waiting for account to be activated? So I had to sign up for a username that I don't really fancy. My name's Aaron from down under, great to see you all.

Great race from Hamilton, he is now following his dream of being just like Senna. (I only hear about Senna two weeks ago, and I've been sad ever since, about a great bloke who died 15 years ago. . I would have been 2-3 years old when he ... you know. ) For all of those critics of Hamilton:

I know that when I play soccer, I always want to be like Petr Cech. A lot of kids have dreams to be like their idols, but never get a chance to. I'm sure plenty of you would have like to be like Senna when you were younger. Hamilton was 7 years old when Senna... you know. And ever since then, Hamilton has wanted to race, and wanted to win Monaco. He has finally fulfilled that ambition. I'm happy for him. He might beat Senna's record on Monaco, even though Senna should have won a couple more. He would have won Monaco 94.

Hamilton made a mistake. He makes plenty of mistakes, which stops him just short of being a legend. But that's inexperience, not lack of skill. Kubica drove a great race, especially Sutil, but in a race of freak events that resulted in Hammy's win, a freak event is all that cause Sutil to retire. Despite my lack of interest in Raikonen, I believe that it was just another freaky event in a freaky race.

Mark Webber (grin you big Aussie  ) drove a great race, but a poor tyre selection cost him a podium position, needless to say that Hammy, Cubey, Flippy all deserved their podium finishes and raced well. And Vettel - where did he come from. Are their any highlights of him making his way up their underneath our noses?

Can anybody tell me cause I don't understend something. I saw the race again and there was something wired. How is it possible that Hamilton lost the wheel. He was passed by a lot of drivers and come back on 4th position after pit stop. I think that he make one lap less than other drivers.

Im new to the forum, I would like to add that it was a great race for me.
Of course I expected this from Monaco, and I also expected Lewis to show his true talent there.
Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for him from now on.

this was done from the gap he and the front runners built up over the midpack, the wheel came off towards the end of the lap so he didnt lose heaps of time coming into the pits and the time making the stop and coming back on track was still enough time to get out infront P5 down

Don't get your hopes up it will far from smooth sailing!! Ferrari still have the best car and on a proper race track that will start to show.

Great race. I noticed some muppet (probably AKR) posted a topic about how boring Monaco is; I think that's just disproved your theory. A Force India almost came through in 4th! You kind of contradicted yourself by saying 'anyone can win it' higher up the page. Surely that adds to the excitement? Anyway, great drive from Lewis, and stunning drive from Sutil as well. Really feel sorry for the guy, he was in tears in the team garage afterwards. No idea how Vettel managed to get himself up into 5th; that one just slipped under the radar. Congratulations to him though. And good to see the WDC tightening up even more

I never said the race was boring, I said it was bitter which refers to the overall result.

Hamilton haters come out in force after he wins, you guys are the worst kind of fan, simply pathetic!

I like Kubica, Kimi and Masa.
I don't like being force fed LH.
Hamilton isn't Senna. James Allen is killing Lewis.
Bud you don't even know who we're a fan of. You are obiviously a smelly englishman, living in Oz.
I don't hate any team. Lewis can drive but am sick of his name.
Rive-a-whatever. Pull ya head in.

Bravo! hehehehehehehe nicely said minus the part about the Englishmen of course. ¿Eres español o de habla español? Just the part of your name "Juan" make me think you are Hispanic anyway.

that was brilliant!!! On the edge of my seat throughout!

I was just swearing and cursing througout the race! Idi u trie pičke materinu Hamilton!

You know, swearing in language that most people don't understand doesn't really make it OK... though I was told it is common practice in, err, that part of the world...

I am sure you know what I wrote means anyway. If you don't it is in Croatian so I am sure one of your Croatian, Serbian or even Slovenian friends can tell you what it means. I am not translating that on this forum as not appropriate.

At least you like the Chelsea Goal Keeper. Nice club. :) Too bad that Scum United unfairly won the European Champions League on penalties. And you like football as well since you play it. Nice as well. I am a football fanatic as well as F1 Ferrari Tifosa.

Plus, the pit lane in Monaco is really short. I think the shortest in all of F1. And since it was wet, the average speed was much slower... so, losing 20 sec when people are doing 250 kmh is a lot worse that losing the same 20 secs when they are going around at 150 kmh. That's why the best time to pit is while the SC is out...

Hammie's flats have ussually happened very close to the pits... so he doesn't lose much time. Even more so, he got a flat on his slow down lap after the checkered... Lucky fella. The "luck of the Champions" i call it :|
